I was pleased to have been asked to be the vocal coach for the second year running of yet another musical organized by the De La Salle Drama Group. This year’s chosen musical was Back to the 80’s, which was held at De La Salle College in November 2010. The theme of this year’s musical brought back so many memories of my own teenage years in the 80’s – the wild fashion (weren’t we just so cool?), the heartbreaks and most of all the fabulous music.

Synopsis:

From the era that brought the world The Rubik’s Cube, Max Headroom and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comes this “totally awesome” musical in the style of movies such as Back to the Future, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Karate Kid and The Wedding Singer. The musical focuses on the graduating class of William Ocean High School as they live through their final senior year – as they experience the fun, the heartbreak, the loves and the loneliness of growing up… all set to the biggest hits of the 80’s!!!
