God only knows – Reign

One of my students, Rebecca Mifsud, took part in this season’s X-Factor and managed to reach the Judges’ Houses together with the group Reign. In November, she and the other girls in Reign – Chrissy and Brenda – approached me with a cool project. They wanted some of my younger students to be part of their music video – from learning the harmonies, singing the backing vocals, dressing up and acting. Here is the outcome – God only knows. Enjoy!

2019 Winner of the Shelagh McCartin Songwriting Award

On 15 December during my students’ Christmas party at Planet Hollywood, the winner of the Shelagh McCartin Songwriting Award was announced.

The winner is Maya Morrow with her song ‘Stop wasting your time’. She will shortly begin working on this song at Somnio Studios together with well-known composer and producer Cyprian Cassar.

I’d like to thank all those who participated. You all showed creativity in your compositions. Well done!

Rockschool exams – Nov ’19

Rockschool exams were held on 19-20 November. Besides students of voice sitting for their vocal exams, it was also the first time that Drums was included. The Drums syllabus is being taught by The Box in Mosta. The examiner Daniel Rankin was very pleased with the performances he saw and heard, and informed me that the standard was very high. Well done to all!
