{"id":289,"date":"2013-01-28T10:09:27","date_gmt":"2013-01-28T10:09:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.clairemccartin.com\/studio\/?p=289"},"modified":"2013-01-28T10:09:27","modified_gmt":"2013-01-28T10:09:27","slug":"national-unity-day-at-rcsc-valletta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.clairemccartin.com\/studio\/2013\/01\/28\/national-unity-day-at-rcsc-valletta\/","title":{"rendered":"National Unity Day at RCSC, Valletta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 7 November 2012, to celebrate National Unity Day, the Russian Centre for Science and Culture (RCSC) in Valletta welcomed me and my students into the Tchaikovsky Hall for a concert of up-and-coming Maltese talent.\u00a0 My students, accompanied by two great musicians \u2013 Luke Grech on guitar and Andrew Triganza Scott on piano, put up a fabulous show.\u00a0 Two students also performed their own original compositions \u2013 Mark Micallef singing Destiny\u2019s Call and MarTina singing Soldier. I also sang two Russian songs \u2013 Nye uhodi pobud so mnoyu and A on mnye nravitsya. I would like to thank Oleg Beglov and his wife Viktoria at the RCSC for giving us opportunities like these. For students, it is important to get experience stepping out onto a stage and performing before a live audience.
