{"id":645,"date":"2015-08-10T10:11:05","date_gmt":"2015-08-10T10:11:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.clairemccartin.com\/studio\/?p=645"},"modified":"2015-10-23T10:11:42","modified_gmt":"2015-10-23T10:11:42","slug":"oltreoceano-festival-live-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.clairemccartin.com\/studio\/2015\/08\/10\/oltreoceano-festival-live-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"OltreOceano Festival Live 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This year&#8217;s OltreOceano Festival Live was held on 7 August (Baby and Junior section) and 8 August (Senior section). \u00a0After organising the auditions for this festival in Malta throughout the year, I had the pleasure of taking up 10 singers from various local vocal teachers (1 singer was my student Anna Salimon) to Monreale (Sicily), and getting to know them and their families. What a wonderful group they were! We were welcomed at the fantastic Rocca di Monreale B&amp;B by the Gionti clan, who really treated us like family and helped us so much throughout our trip.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.clairemccartin.com\/studio\/files\/2015\/10\/Chilling-at-the-BB.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-647\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clairemccartin.com\/studio\/files\/2015\/10\/Chilling-at-the-BB-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Chilling at the B&amp;B\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.clairemccartin.com\/studio\/files\/2015\/10\/Chilling-at-the-BB-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.clairemccartin.com\/studio\/files\/2015\/10\/Chilling-at-the-BB.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I am pleased to say that all 10 singers sang wonderfully and fared very well in the results. Nathaniel Attard, who sang in the Baby section, won the Critics&#8217; Choice Award and in the Junior section, Raisa Micallef came 1st (on the left) and Milena Bianco came 3rd (on the right).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.clairemccartin.com\/studio\/files\/2015\/10\/with-2-Juniors.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-648\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clairemccartin.com\/studio\/files\/2015\/10\/with-2-Juniors-289x300.jpg\" alt=\"with 2 Juniors\" width=\"289\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.clairemccartin.com\/studio\/files\/2015\/10\/with-2-Juniors-289x300.jpg 289w, https:\/\/www.clairemccartin.com\/studio\/files\/2015\/10\/with-2-Juniors.jpg 924w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 289px) 100vw, 289px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There were four singers from my group in the Senior section. All sang excellently &#8211; Jessica Magro won the Critics&#8217; Choice Award and Emma Muscat came 2nd.
