Local singer Claire Galea has just returned from Moscow where she had the honour to perform at a private banquet at the legendary Yar Restaurant, famous for its magnificent floor-to-ceiling frescoes and opulent early 20th century décor. It has been host to famous clientele from the Russian performing arts scene, such as writer/playwright Anton Chekhov, opera singer Fyodor Shalyapin and actor/theatre director Konstantin Stanislavsky. It has always been the place to see and be seen.

The audience, who hailed from various countries in Europe, was awed by Claire’s distinctive blues voice and rich timbre, and showed much appreciation of this artist’s individuality.
