Hello COVID!

In the midst of all this COVID madness, online lessons with my students have been going on since 19 March. Sadly my studio hasn’t seen the light of day since then.

Many were initially worried about doing lessons online, but I must say that I am very happily surprised at the sheer volume of vocal breakthroughs that are taking place so far during this quarantine. One of the hidden blessings that has come out of this horrific outbreak is that my students have the TIME to actually dedicate to building their voices.

There has thus been the unexpected benefit of a great many singers demonstrating more improvement in their singing technique in the past few weeks. I am so happy that everyone is working so hard and it is my intention that post COVID, all of them will emerge with voices that are exponentially stronger, more beautiful and more resilient.

I commend them for their great diligence and dedication to their singing during these trying times. Well done! Bravi! Let’s do this!

The Addams Family

What a wonderful musical – the script so funny and the music simply fabulous! Many months of preparations working with a great team meant that we opened to rave reviews on 7-8 March 2020.

Acoustic Sessions at RCSC

My annual students’ concert – Acoustic Sessions – was held at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture on 13 February. Accompanying the singers were Kris Domancich on piano and Maya Morrow on guitar.

X-Factor final!!!

My greatly talented student Ema Vella became a hit overnight when she was heard for the first time during this season’s X-Factor auditions. At just 15, she wowed the judges and the audience at home. Here’s her audition:

She went on to be part of the group FAITH (Five Are In The House) and made it to the finals on 8 February.

God only knows – Reign

One of my students, Rebecca Mifsud, took part in this season’s X-Factor and managed to reach the Judges’ Houses together with the group Reign. In November, she and the other girls in Reign – Chrissy and Brenda – approached me with a cool project. They wanted some of my younger students to be part of their music video – from learning the harmonies, singing the backing vocals, dressing up and acting. Here is the outcome – God only knows. Enjoy!
